Expeditors Compliance Manager, Government Services in Grapevine, Texas

  • Provides subject matter expertise in USG Acquisition Regulations (FARs, DFARs and other agency supplements) and their applicability to Expeditors contracts.

  • Ensures that FAR requirements are understood and built into people, processes, technology, and systems that directly support US government contracts. Works closely with business owners, Transition and Implementation, and Legal to ensure contracts are set up in accordance with contract requirements.

  • Sets audit parameters and timelines. Initiates audits to ensure compliance with Expeditors’ policies and procedures and compliance with all USG contract regulatory requirements. Plans audits, reviews internal controls, tests, reports findings, and works with the Company to remediate deficiencies.

  • Acts as the primary point of contact within the GS team for transactional/shipment assistance related to Government compliance. (Ex. Service provider selection, routing rules).

  • Creates and maintains project plans for regulatory compliance requirements, with the involvement and input from the responsible departments/teams in Expeditors.

  • Interprets contract requirements and defines the obligations for the Company.  

  • Supports the contract setup, transition, and implementation of new business, including the approved Government Business service provider requirements, freight routing rules, Service Contract Standards, etc., for all locations working on contracts.

  • Leads and supports audits with internal teams to support contract-related activities and verifies compliance.

  • Trains, monitors, assesses, and guides employees on USG contracting regulations and requirements.

  • Assists Government services team managers in building and maintaining strong relationships with vendors, service providers and USG customers.

  • Capable of planning and participating in training of contract practices within Company.

  • Collects contractual data and compiles reports, as needed, in a format that can be shared at the appropriate levels within the Company.

  • Keeps informed of current and proposed laws, regulations, directives, rules, and policies applicable to Trade Compliance at Expeditors and regarding the government contracting industry.

  • Ensures contractual compliance with all laws and regulations.

  • Must be a United States Citizen and be able to work at a US Expeditors branch.

  • Demonstrates understanding of applicable Trade Compliance laws and regulations.

  • Demonstrate experience working with applicable US Government policies, procedures, and regulations.

  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Demonstrates proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications.

  • US Military service and/or US Government employment experience preferred.

  • Fluent in English.

Expected annual base salary: $65,000 – $85,000

This position can be worked from any US Expeditors office.
