Expeditors Program Manager (Release Train Engineer) – GNS & Transcon Products, Operational Experience in Seattle, Washington

The Program Manager will fill the role of Release Train Engineer (RTE) for the GNS & Transcon Products Agile Release Train (ART). The ART is focused on value delivery via Expeditors' new exp.o systems. It will be utilized by GNS & Transcon and be the technology enabler that ensures our company continues to be the recognized industry leader in global logistics. The vision for exp.o Transportation is to create a world-class system that delivers value by supporting the entire Expeditors ecosystem—our people, our processes, our customers, and our service providers. Aligning with Expeditors' strategic migration objectives both within and outside the ART is an important part of executing this vision.

The RTE is responsible for the facilitation of ART events and processes and assists the teams in delivery of value. The RTE will communicate with stakeholders, escalate & remove impediments, help manage risk, and drive relentless improvement. The RTE will report into the GNS & Transcon Senior Manager and work directly with the ART Triad, ART Leadership, and various stakeholders across the company.


  • Facilitate and coach the ART through processes and execution to deliver value

  • Partner with the Product Manager and System Architect to maintain a strong narrative with clarity and purpose for the vision, strategy, and goals of the ART

  • Facilitate ART events including but not limited to PI Planning, Scrum of Scrums, ART Sync, System Demos and Retrospectives

  • Identify, communicate and lead resolution of issues or risks to execution and delivery

  • Support the creation, communication, and ongoing evolution of the GNS & Transcon roadmap

  • Understand high-level technical design and requirements in order to support execution of the plan

  • Influence and participate in release scoping

  • Partner with Product Management and GBO on release planning to the field

  • Develop and publish metrics to track ART progress and success

  • Lead teams in adapting to changes, new opportunities, and challenges that arise in relentless improvement of the ART

  • 4+ years of Project or Program Management experience or Scrum Master/RTE

  • Driven towards relentless improvement

  • In depth knowledge of SAFe principles

  • A passion to lead, inspire, facilitate and communicate

  • Assertive personality, interpersonal and leadership skills

  • Drive/Execution oriented – “Practical Idealist”

  • Demonstrated success in leading complex and large team of teams

  • Able to facilitate meetings and coordinate across large groups of people

  • Ability to coach and mentor team members

  • Excellent oral, facilitation, and written communication skills with a broad audience

  • Strong understanding of a Systems Development Lifecycle (SDLC), Lean/Agile concepts, and SAFe


  • SAFe Certifications (Leading SAFe, Product Owner/Product Manager, Scrum Master, Release Train Engineer, etc.)

  • Four-year college degree in a related field or equivalent work experience

  • Supply Chain industry certifications

  • Competency in leveraging Azure Dev Ops to perform job responsibilities
